I was diagnosed with chronic depression and GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) in early 2010. I refused medication straight away, having heard so many negative connotations about antidepressants. I was offered therapy, but was told there could be up to a six-month waiting list. I also declined. Eventually, my depressive states subsided a little and I celebrated a little too early, having thought I’d finally killed off the black dog. However, around 2014, I realised my dog was here to stay.
mental health VS eco-sustainability
You see the accounts on Instagram. The perfect ones, who are entirely ‘zero waste’ or who post about being able to fit their entire year’s waste in a jar. The Elephant Part II
The elephant has been suffocating you for years. So many years that stretch into a distant path where every brick seems irrelevant, but yet the whole long and winding road is so pertinent at this moment. Why are you choosing now to leave? How Silence Makes Me Feel (And Other Digressions)
Even when I list what and who I have in my life, it still sometimes doesn't feel real. Like I've been living a lie for the past 24 years.
My Letter To Depression
Depression,
How do you propel me so deep into your despair that no amount of embraces from my partner can relieve my sobbing?
